Sony Introduces 16MP And 10MP CCD Image Sensors
Tuesday, May 31, 2011
Sony has revealed a 16.15-megapixel, 1x2.3″ CCD sensor, which uses its Super HAD (Hole-Accumulation Diode) technology. Developed for consumer digital cameras, the 16MP 1x2.3-inch CCD sensor uses tiny 1.34µm pixels and offers 720x30p video, as well as 5fps burst mode but only at 4MP. Sony claims improvements of high-ISO and wider dynamic range, thanks to finer fabrication technologies that enabled it to go from 1.43um to 1.34um. The company has also introduced a smaller, 1x2.93″ sensor, offering a 10.17-megapixel of resolution using the same 1.34µm pixel size. [Foto Actualidad]
